Hi Mike,
More or less what you just said -
Take the quick matches ends, and put them all
together. Make an aluminum tube by rolling some heavy
duty Al. foil on a rod of some sort. Secure with some
sello-type. Close one end on your Ematch so that the
Ematch head is inside and the ends come out of the
buttom of the sealed end. Now you have a cup made of
aluminum foil.

A sketch...

Place some granular BP in the cup, around the ematch.
Insert the 3 quick matches into the cup and tighten
the aluminum foil around the matches so the cup won't
fall.
When you hit the ignition button it will do two
things:
1. ignite the granular BP and the quick matches.
2. expand the aluminum cup and hence turn the quick
matches free of each other.

If one is, for some reason, slower than the others -
it will be attached to the motor and not to the cup
or to an Ematch and it will fly with the rest of the
system - igniting the motor a little bit later...

Good luck with the tests. Let us know how it went!
Cheers,
Flint
