Those are indeed reputable books but Sleeter's book covers much, much,
much more than propellants. I strongly suggest you increase your
library by at least one book and that book be Sleeter's. Just my
opinion. Ultimate decision is up to you.
And yes - "NO CERAMIC MEDIA" for milling your BP. Can't hurt to
reiterate that important item!!! Safety ALWAYS above ALL else.
i currently have "Black powder Manufacture Methods and Techniques" by
Ian Von Maltitz as well as Tom Perigrins book "Introductory Practical
Pyrotechnics" wich has a prety good section on makeing BP.
Untill i have at least tried the methods in these books I think ill hold
off on more how to books on BP. Unless of course the general concensis
is that these books are not something a beginner should be useing. I
have been told by several pyros that these are indeed reputable books.
Please advise on youre opinion.
Thanks in advance, Bill .
I would recommend you get the Teleflite book, but yes it is more
worthwhile making your own powder, but you CANNOT USE CERAMIC MEDIA, use
only lead or even better brass pellets.
Im just getting started in makeing rockets. I would like to make my BP
insted of buy it. Is this realy feesable time and money wise? I have an
exelent ball mill and ceramic media. the ball mill is about 1 gal
capasity. How much would you recomend makeing for a first time batch.
..I plan on makeing 4lbs rockets
Any sugestions or first time traps to avoid?
