There is at least one documented incident where ceramic media was used in a ball mill (milling BP), that ball mill exploded. It has been reported on both the PML and the r-BP lists. It happened to a a very experienced Pyrotechnician, who adheres at all safely precautions. If you intend to purchase and use ceramic media to mill BP, then make sure that it is done remotely, and not in my State!
