To clearify i had planned on milling the individual componets prior to useing the precip method. This will be my first atempt at BP.
I had thought of doing the milling only method but i thought i would try this once or twice first and then milling and see witch gives better performance.

This is why im hesatent to buy more books untill i have tried the methods in the books i have. It seems a very debated topic as to the best way to make BP.
My goal is the simpelest and safest method to make BP thats adiquit for typical pyro devices.

Also do you think dexitrin for harder grains is at all nessary if i only plan on useing the BP for rockets at this time?

I have never used the precipitation method, I find you can adjust the burn rate by increasing or decreasing milling time without having to use additives to lower the burn rate, to me this method is foolproof and consistant for rocket motors. You can use dextrin 5%, but I have never found it to be nesassary.
