>>humm ..your remark about 8oz rocketslifting stars
got methinking. How big of a shell could a 1 lb
rocket lift? 2" , 3" ? bigger? and how high would said
shell lift?<<
You would be surprised as to how much weight a rocket
motor can lift up. I've gotten a 4" ball shell up a
good 3-400' on a 4oz. BP motor. For a 1 lb. BP
rocket, I typically lift a 4" ball shell to about
5-600' no problem, but I've put up 5" ball shells on 1
lb. BP rockets. With a whistle mix you may even be
able to go even larger (6" possibly)?
>>your 8oz rockets how are you loading the stars?
small canister or shell or just loaded into a header
with some type of pasfire to ignight them?<<
To load the stars, I add about 1/4 teaspoon of 2F BP
on top of the clay plug (with a hole pressed into it),
then stick the shell (with a short time fuse primed
with NC) right on top, glue, and tape.
